While it’s (usually) easier to meet someone who lives in the same country as you do, it’s not always the case. Additionally, in a multicultural country, it’s quite easy to meet people from different cultural backgrounds. One of my cousins is married to a man who was born in Taiwan, and another is married to a man from South Africa. In both cases, they migrated to Australia and were able to put down some roots here. My cousins didn’t think “I want to marry a Taiwanese man” or “I want to marry a South African man”, and neither did they think they could only see themselves marrying other Anglo-Australians.

In relation to your suggest that people should always marry people within their own culture, I won’t say it’s always easy.
